20740 Sémery (provisional designation: 1999 XB228) is a main-belt minor planet. It was discovered through the Lowell Observatory Near-Earth-Object Search at the Anderson Mesa Station in Coconino County, Arizona, on December 13, 1999. It is named after Alain Sémery, an engineer at the Paris Observatory.
